Personal Statements & Statement of Grant Purpose for Fulbright

Participate in a workshop series to understand personal statement writing for many types of fellowships, grants and post-graduate opportunities. Please be prepared to participate through writing exercises, reviewing sample statements, and in brainstorming ideas for personal statements. Bring your lunch to enjoy during the discussion!

The WSA is currently holding the elections for next year’s Senior Class officer positions. If you are interested in one of the positions:

 Leadership Intern The Leadership Intern helps to support SALD’s mission to foster and encourage leadership skill development among student leaders. In working to achieve this goal the Intern collaborates with student organizations and other involved leaders on campus to conduct programs and trainings, facilitate dialogues, create resources, and seeks feedback from current students.

Queer Community Intern The Queer Community Intern is responsible for being a resource for and maintaining communication with the various LGBTQQ organizations and groups on campus, as well as with LGBTQQ allies among alumni, faculty, and administration. The intern also maintains the Queer Resource Center and organizes monthly Queer Community Meetings and other campus-wide social and educational programs. The intern typically has an interest in multi-political organizing–recognizing the complex interconnections among issues of sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, class, ableism, etc., aiming to build bridges between the various multicultural communities on campus. The QC Intern is a member of the Student Affairs Intern Team.

Student of Color Coalition Intern The SCC Intern provides peer assistance and support to Wesleyan’s various multicultural/ethnic organizations. In particular, the Intern offers advocacy and support to student organizations and works to build bridges between different identity groups. The Intern also co-chairs the Student of Color Coalition (SCC), a group intended to bring together different student leaders of color in one space to share resources and promote dialogue. The SCC Intern is a member of the Student Affairs Intern Team.

Work at Commencement/Reunion 2016! Apps due April 8

Hey Juniors!

Reunion and Commencement Weekend 2016 is fast approaching (May 19-May 22), and we need student employees! Aside from getting paid, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to help out with one of Wesleyan’s biggest events, network and make lasting connections with alumni, and represent the student body to hundreds of visitors and guests. Potential jobs include working at the Registration site, being a Camp Cardinal Counselor, escorting guests around campus in shuttle vans, and much more!

To apply for a position, please fill out and submit the student employee application, available here. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 8th at 12:00 PM, and we will notify you of your employment status no later than Tuesday, April 12th.

There will be a mandatory student employee meeting on Tuesday, May 17th in Exley Science Center 150, at 5:30 PM. If you are hired, you must attend this meeting to receive your work schedules, event staff T-shirt, and other important event information.
